Optimizing DNA transfection requires balancing multiple variables such as cell density, reagent concentration, and DNA amount – often through time-consuming iterations.
Using the CELLCYTE X live-cell imaging platform, transfection efficiency was monitored in real time through expression of the fluorescent reporter mCherry in HEK 293T/17 cells. The system enabled precise evaluation of both penetrance (proportion of cells transfected) and expressivity (level of transgene expression per cell), streamlining the development of an optimized transfection protocol.
